How then can one maximise his or her singlehood knowing that there are so many wide pitfalls ready to trap one once any mistake is made?
1. Work on yourself. If you have temper issues, singlehood is the time to control this so you don't become a wife or husband beater or a tongue murderer after marriage. Work on your speech. Learn politeness, discipline, respect, courtesy and tolerance.
2. Save and invest. Learn to use money wisely. Learn to save no matter how little you earn.
3. Study, read and learn. Improve you vocabulary. Widen your knowledge horizon. Try to know something about everything.
4. Formulate personal disciplines on your appetite, dress sense, character, prayer life, time, studies and so on. In other words, dos and don'ts for yourself.
5. Package yourself rightly for the kind of people you want to meet; business partners, spouse, friends or employers. Be well packaged in your dressing and behaviour so you do not get intimidated by other people's mere presence.
6. Submit yourself to mentors; academic, business, spiritual, sports, whatever. Get a mentor and submit to him or her.
8. Discover and develop your skills and talents. Go for competitions, become a leader, try out something you have not tried before. Aim to be better.
8. Sustain meaningful relationships and do not look down on people. Anybody can become somebody. Treat people well.
9.Whatever you want to do, do it now but avoid doing things you might regret tomorrow.
10. Place God over everything. Yes! everything.
Be awesome while you are single!
