GLOBACOM SHUTS UNEC DOWN WITH TIMAYA, MI AND RUNTOWN, DJNEPTUNE AND DJLAMBO

Last night is a night that will not be forgotten in  hurry at the  University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus as Globacom ended its week long mouth watering Campus Data Bundle campaign tagged 'Glo campus storm' with an enveloping event which brought down A list artistes such as Timaya, MI and Runtown to the white house of the prestigious institution.
Yours truly was there and brings you reports!

The event was slated to start by 4pm although it later started much later that night due to problems with the generator which was to be used to power the auditorium and other equipments for the event. Many students left for emergency night class in the few opened classes like Abuja auditorium and Coscharis building. Luck however was on the side of the patient students who were already murmuring that the show was a scam, when PHCN restored power supply around 11pm. Immediately the power was restored, all the students including those who left for till day break studying returned and the auditorium was filled to the brim.
DjNeptune and DjLambo manned the wheels of steel and ensured that the students were entertained with the best jamz.

RUNTOWN performed first. He thrilled the students with his hit songs like Gallardo, Baby Answer, Lagos to Kampala, Bend down pause, Latest and many others. Although RUNTOWN's performance lasted for a short period probably because the organisers were trying to manage time, he was able to light the stage up, brighten and capture the students who were saddened as a result of the earlier power disappointment
 .

Mr Incredible himself, MI ABAGA came up next and threw the students into a frenzy. Many students lost use of their vocal chords last night after shouting along to the CHAIRMAN's ever thrilling rap lines. MI Abaga connected with the students in a unique way with songs like One naira, Bullion van, Number one, Nobody, Undisputed Champion, Unstoppable, Monkey and many more. He also turned into a preacher as he prophesied into the lives of the students. He also introduced a new artiste???  who stunned the crowd.

The Chairman was very generous with the students as his gave out his ring and a CD plate to a male student wrist watch to a student who impressed him, with their ability to sing along to his song. He also gave out his blazers and many hugs to a lady, one Rachel, who he said caught his eyes and stole his heart as she continuously sang along and danced to his songs. MI invited her to the stage and 'proposed' to her. The overjoyed lady wept and hurriedly accepted. No be small thing oo!
Yours truly was however sad because MI didn't perform her of two favourites; Another man and Human being because he failed to hear her tiny voice screaming for him to perform them.

Next up was the one and only 'Eberi papa 1 of Bayelsa' and CEO Dem Mama Records, TIMAYA! He shut down the environment taking the students back to the days of the plantain boy and the Bayelsa anti-crime singer with Dem Mama, If to say, Ogologomma, Everybody call me Timaya and to the new Timaya with his hit songs like, I Concur, Ukwu, Sexy Mama, I Like the way, Gbagam, Shake your Bumbum, Hold me now and many more. Timaya showed the students his dancing skills as he danced beautifully to his songs.
He too turned to a prophet, just like MI, as he released fire on everyone holding the students' destinies and causing them carryovers.
The students were however disappointed that the top singer did not throw any items to them as many (including yours truly) kept eyeing his dark glasses, beautiful neck chain and the bowler hat he wore.
Some also complained that the stage managers were too strict since they blocked the stage so much that very few students could touch the artistes.
Other high points of the events were a pageantry to select the Glo Campus Ambassadors which  had 17 ladies and 18 men struggling for the position.
8 winners (4 males and 4 females) were named glo campus ambassadors and presented with #50,000 each while 2 overall champions, one Pascal Ogbuefi, a 500level  Medical Radiography student and Joy, a Law student who became Mr and Miss Glo Campus UNEC respectively and awarded the sum of #100,000 each. Congratulations to them.
Although the event didn't last for long. It ended around 1:30am, it was a hit and the students left very happy.
It was indeed a night to remember.

CRUSH ISSUES

I was standing by a corner of the road awaiting any oncoming tricycle (keke) to halt. "Mummy will kill me today. How did I forget to look at my wristwatch?", I wondered aloud as I searched my head for any sugar coated excuse to give her for staying out so late. "Hello". Excuse me", a strong and smooth voice behind me said. I ignored the voice. Hello, please excuse me".The voice repeated and seemed to draw closer. I turned around. My eyes couldn't believe who I saw so I quickly looked away. "I'm sorry to bother you but I couldn't help but notice you alot in there". The voice called again. It was Kiss Danel. Yes, Kiss Daniel. The celebrity. The Woju crooner. My all time celebrity crush. He was the one seeking my attention. Wonders shall never end.  Kiss was the guest artiste at the event I had just attended at African cultural centre, Kano.Throughout the event, I noticed he kept looking at me or maybe in my direction but I wade...

The Error of 'Don't you Know you are a Girl? '

Part 1 Dear Society, When you want to correct a female going wrong, especially a child,  do not remind her that she is a girl. Do not tell her to stop because she is a girl. Tell her to stop and change because her actions are wrong. When she wears a skirt and sits with her legs wide open,  tell her to close them because it is wrong to sit with your undies exposed. When she talks arrogantly,  correct her because it is wrong to speak that way. Don't tell her to be polite because girls should be. Sensible humans are polite. Politeness is not gender specific. When she dresses indecently,  correct the wrongness of the dressing. Don't make it about her gender. Decency doesn't apply to one gender. When she is unable to cook at 18, remind her that it is only reasonable for an adult to be capable of making food for his/her survival. No gender needs the skill more. When she rides her car in a rough manner,  remind her that wrong driving has sent many to their...
