RAPE... WHOSE FAULT?

Sometime ago,  a friend put up a post on rape on his facebook  wall. I went through the comments section and discovered that a number of people who commented, were of the opinion that women (the victims) were the reason they were raped.
To say I knew what to say to that commenter, would be to lie to you.  I was shocked and speechless.  How can someone conceive such thoughts in his heart?
No victim of rape whether male or female is the cause of his/her predicament. The only exception is when the rapist is mentally derailed.

Don't tell me that because a lady was skimpily dressed, your hormones began to rage uncontrollably, and so you raped her.  That simply means you have objectified women.
Yes! Women have been objectified in our society. How else can you relate to the fact that a young man wearing just a pair of boxers stays in the company of adult females and leaves there unharmed while a lady is raped severally because "her skimpy dress turned the brothers violently on". While I am not a fan of undersized clothes,  I strongly believe that men who rape women because of their dressing are highly  possessed. That a woman comes out naked doesn't give you any reason to sexually assault her.

Another case is where a lady visits a male friend and ends up getting raped by the fellow (and his friends in some cases).  Someone on here will tell me that the lady was wrong to visit the rapist(s). Guys visit ladies everyday and come out unharmed. Why can't it be other way?  Societal orientation!!! It sucks big time!
The society has told our men over and over that they are beasts who should be enslaved by their eyes and should not have the value called 'self control'. (For Christians, It is a fruit of the Spirit).
Many guys take all sort of drugs in preparation for the visit of their female friends because they believe it must end in sex. Little wonder few girls have normal male friends. I really pity the orientation the guys in my generation have.

Let me share a personal experience. I visited a 'friend' (I can't call him that anymore) sometimes ago at his place. In the course of our friendly  discussion,  this guy suddenly turned to a beast and was going to rape me but for luck sake.  I was indeed very lucky to come out of his place that day . Now before you say the dude must have been immature or an illiterate, let me burst your bubble. He is a 29year old Medical doctor. Can you believe that? I can tag him to this post if I get bribed reasonably.
My friends will say he was suffering from accumulated 'konji' or he probably took some form of Viagra in preparation for action (action that never came). Those I might agree to (lol).
I shared the experience with some friends  and the majority were of the opinion that I was at fault. I shouldn't have visited him. Poor orientation once again !!!  Till date,  I refuse to see any wrong on my part and on the part of any lady who gets raped while visiting a male friend, after all, there are cases where a guy visits a lady and ends up raping her in her own apartment. (See the movie 'For coloured girls' by Tyler Perry).

Worst case scenario is where a child, a little child gets raped by a foolish 'brother' (pronounced brodaa) or uncle and she is blamed for leading the rapist on. OMG!!!  How exactly can a child lead an adult on? Probably by her flowered dresses,  packed up hair,  childish laughter or maybe by the sound of her learning the alphabets.  Aaaaaahhhhhh!!!
A rapist is a rapist. He doesn't need to be led on to execute his full rapist potentials.
Many women and girls have been raped and many get raped everyday by family,  friends, boyfriends and their husbands. Many are afraid to speak up because they feel they will be blamed for their plight.

This piece is emotional and it is for every girl, every woman out there who has been raped or who is currently been raped and is afraid to speak up because of the fear of what the society will say. Forget what the society is going to say. It wasn't your fault and right now it is not your fault.

It's your dress. Wear it. Let the beast in him rage.
Friend, No one can blame you for visiting a friend.
Dear child,  be innocent as you already are and let his hormones surge beyond his control. It is his problem.

Let the orientation change.
Stop the objectification of women.
Let not her features make you an animal.
See women as humans and not sex tools.
Leave that young child alone. She is a child.

Rapists should be castrated without anaesthesia

GLOBACOM SHUTS UNEC DOWN WITH TIMAYA, MI AND RUNTOWN, DJNEPTUNE AND DJLAMBO

Last night is a night that will not be forgotten in  hurry at the  University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus as Globacom ended its week long mouth watering Campus Data Bundle campaign tagged 'Glo campus storm' with an enveloping event which brought down A list artistes such as Timaya, MI and Runtown to the white house of the prestigious institution. Yours truly was there and brings you reports! The event was slated to start by 4pm although it later started much later that night due to problems with the generator which was to be used to power the auditorium and other equipments for the event. Many students left for emergency night class in the few opened classes like Abuja auditorium and Coscharis building. Luck however was on the side of the patient students who were already murmuring that the show was a scam, when PHCN restored power supply around 11pm. Immediately the power was restored, all the students including those who left for till day break studying returned and the a...

CRUSH ISSUES

I was standing by a corner of the road awaiting any oncoming tricycle (keke) to halt. "Mummy will kill me today. How did I forget to look at my wristwatch?", I wondered aloud as I searched my head for any sugar coated excuse to give her for staying out so late. "Hello". Excuse me", a strong and smooth voice behind me said. I ignored the voice. Hello, please excuse me".The voice repeated and seemed to draw closer. I turned around. My eyes couldn't believe who I saw so I quickly looked away. "I'm sorry to bother you but I couldn't help but notice you alot in there". The voice called again. It was Kiss Danel. Yes, Kiss Daniel. The celebrity. The Woju crooner. My all time celebrity crush. He was the one seeking my attention. Wonders shall never end.  Kiss was the guest artiste at the event I had just attended at African cultural centre, Kano.Throughout the event, I noticed he kept looking at me or maybe in my direction but I wade...

The Error of 'Don't you Know you are a Girl? '

Part 1 Dear Society, When you want to correct a female going wrong, especially a child,  do not remind her that she is a girl. Do not tell her to stop because she is a girl. Tell her to stop and change because her actions are wrong. When she wears a skirt and sits with her legs wide open,  tell her to close them because it is wrong to sit with your undies exposed. When she talks arrogantly,  correct her because it is wrong to speak that way. Don't tell her to be polite because girls should be. Sensible humans are polite. Politeness is not gender specific. When she dresses indecently,  correct the wrongness of the dressing. Don't make it about her gender. Decency doesn't apply to one gender. When she is unable to cook at 18, remind her that it is only reasonable for an adult to be capable of making food for his/her survival. No gender needs the skill more. When she rides her car in a rough manner,  remind her that wrong driving has sent many to their...
