I WAS ANGRY 2

The next session, I dropped out of school and moved in with James. I attended classes regularlyat first to prevent people from asking questions. Every money my parents gave me from then onwards was used to support James and I. James did little business sometimes and made some money which he used to support us. We agreed that I would go back to school once he graduated and got a job. All this while my parents were kept in the dark . I cut off from the few friends I had to prevent them from suspecting what was going on. My parents marriage became plagued with so many crisis. My father lost his job with the construction company, my mum was diagnosed with cancer of the breast and my youngest brother fell from a staircase, broke his legs badly and was confined to a wheel chair. My father who had always been very emotional and soft experienced a terrible psychological trauma. He left the house one day without his phone and without dropping any contact address. My mum took ill and since ...

I WAS ANGRY(CONCLUDING PART)

I ran into the bedroom and searched for any contact address of Evare or any close relation of hers. Luck was on my side. I found a phone number written at the back of a book in James' business box. The name 'My angel' gave her out. I immediately ran to a phone booth and called the number. A young girl (the househelp) picked up. I pretended to be a relative and asked her for directions to the house with a male voice. The unsuspecting girl gave full directions. I thanked her and hurried back to the house. It was about 4pm. I rushed to the ATM, withdrew some money, packed a few clothes, rushed to rhe bus station, got my ticket and and joined the last bus to Owerri. The bus arrived Owerri around 6:30pm. It was almost dark by then. First, I searched for and found the house of my 'co-wife'(Evare). Next, I looked for a nearby hotel and lodged in it. Then I went to a nearby shop that sold reagents and chemicals and bought concentrated acid. I got two full bo...

2016 CLASS OF MEDICAL LAB SCIENCE; THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE DARING

All my life before I was blown to the Enugu Campus of the University of Nigeria, I thought I had found me. Walking through the iron gates of the den I realised that there was a different side to me. That side I have come to discover largely in the institution. Now I can comfortably say that the vision of our prestigious institution which is to build up its students in character and in learning came through in me. This piece isn't to mention the accolades of my now alma mater. It is however to describe some of the personalities I met while in the den. Personalities that were my my classmates. Personalities that became family. I'm going to be very honest here. Please do not murder me after reading this. Abonyi Chinaza (Rosa). Hardworking and Intelligent. Confdent. Area mama. SE erial competitor. Was probably told that the university had spots for first, second and third positions. Laughs heartily. Abu Mabe. Quiet and reserved. Good cook. Christian. Ver sluggish. Drags feet...

CRUSH ISSUES

I was standing by a corner of the road awaiting any oncoming tricycle (keke) to halt. "Mummy will kill me today. How did I forget to look at my wristwatch?", I wondered aloud as I searched my head for any sugar coated excuse to give her for staying out so late. "Hello". Excuse me", a strong and smooth voice behind me said. I ignored the voice. Hello, please excuse me".The voice repeated and seemed to draw closer. I turned around. My eyes couldn't believe who I saw so I quickly looked away. "I'm sorry to bother you but I couldn't help but notice you alot in there". The voice called again. It was Kiss Danel. Yes, Kiss Daniel. The celebrity. The Woju crooner. My all time celebrity crush. He was the one seeking my attention. Wonders shall never end.  Kiss was the guest artiste at the event I had just attended at African cultural centre, Kano.Throughout the event, I noticed he kept looking at me or maybe in my direction but I wade...
